The purpose of the presentation is to share the organizational and leadership journeys of deafblind individuals who developed a non-profit organization to inform, support, and empower others who are deafblind. The presentation team consists of two elected deafblind leaders who were interviewed by two hearing and sighted board members about their insights on multiple cycles of advocacy and engagement within the community. Leaders will share insights on the cycles of growth within the organization, the joys and unique challenges of maintaining engagement both before and throughout the pandemic. Additional reflections on what supports deafblind leadership and their hopes for the future offer guidance for policymakers, agency directors, and community allies.
